OK, We have not done trivia in a while and ran across this items yesterday working on a parts car and thought it would be a good trivia question.   See picture below and name that part!

Two hints: It fits inside something and definitely not something you would find on every 1963/64 Cadillac.

Is it inserted into a hose to prevent collapsing ? Or is it used on a door panel like for a window crank ? Or is it put in the gas tank neck to prevent someone from siphoning gas ….

OK... 3 guesses and the 3rd is correct. It is rather large, and goes in the metal gas tank filler neck to prevent siphoning gas. I guess it would prevent anything from getting pushed into the tank.. but siphoning gas prevention would be the main use!

SO, RAY.... HAVE A CIGAR!!!

Size matters. Even if wife says it doesn't... ;-)

Can I suggest using a reference like a BIC-lighter or a soda-can to get an idea about size for next trivia?

I intentionally didn't want to give a size reference! In fact I tried to take picture in a way that would not indicate size.  Makes it more fun not knowing the the size!

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
