Hello All

I am atempting to order carpet for my 64 deVille convertible. The carpet presently in the car is not stock and I want to bring back to original style and colour. The spec manual says it should be a dark red Tremont style cut pile. I am looking at a company called ACC. A lot of distributors seem to carry their carpets. Has anyone used this company's product? Other names to use instead? Thanks in advance for the help Larry

I have yet to see a company offer an exact blend and style of carpet that our cars originally came with.

Since your car is a deVille, please avoid the common mistake of getting the cheaper loop-type carpeting that was for the Series 62 cars.

Thank you. They do offer a cut style which is the one I am thinking about ordering but it does not say Tremont style.

Exactly. Tremont was a wool blend. Doubtful that any company would take the effort to make that for a relatively small market of car guys.

Perhaps there's a custom carpet company (not for cars) that could source as close to possible from a carpet maker.  I'd have to think there's  some pile wood blends of similar cut design that an ambitious car owner (and a great interior sew shop)  could make be darn close.

Of course, be prepared for a big $$$ to do so.

Still, for anyone with a concours car, it'd be worth it.  I'd consider it for my '64 Eldo, which still has its original carpet on the lower seat backs.  I don't have the time to research, so if someone wants to take this on...

Call OC Auto Carpets. It’s about close as you’re going to get to the original.  Be sure you get cut pile and extra thick pad.  I just restored the interior on my ‘64 deVille and it looks great!  Here is the link to the site: https://www.ocautocarpets.com/?gclid=CjwKCAiA2fmdBhBpEiwA4CcHzWSkk7...

Thanks Michael

I used acc for my 63 convertible  the product was good but I came across one issue. when I originally ordered the person on the phone asked if my car was a series 62 or Eldorado. I told them series 62 and the carpet I got was for a series 62 coupe it didn,t fit in the rear because the convertible back seat is narrower. when I called them up they said the their catalog only listed the carpet I received to fit all series 62 cars. So I ordered the Eldorado convertible carpet and got a carpet that fit my series 62 convertible. I called them back and told them they had a listing issue but they didn,t seem to care. I hope they have rectified the problem or have it right for the 64 cars.

So Maurice I am having the same problem ordering for my 64 deville. The distributor I am ordering through says there is no convertible listing.

Did you deal directly with ACC or a distributor?

update: I just got off the phone with ACC and they said they don't make for convertibles. Did you order Eldorado because carpet dimensions are longer? When I input Eldorado under 64 it does not show the # of doors option and I can't find any sizing details on any sites. Could you explain how you figured this out so I can try to do the same for the 64.

the Eldorado only comes as a convertible and that's why I ordered it. I called acc direct and they where kind of clueless as to their bad listing. the Eldorado carpet fit my series 62 convertible perfect as all convertible 63 or 64 model year have the same floor pan. I just rechecked their website and the 61-64 eldo carpet is the one I used for my convertible. #1928 in red loop the carpet for the 2 door coupe deville did not fit right around the rear lower interior panels because they house the convertible top rams which a 2 door coupe deville does not have.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
