Good evening all!

I need to adjust the Rear Pass Side door on my 64 Fleetwood. The bottom corner is dragging on the top fender skirt. Picking up ever so slightly on the door when closing is all that is needed to get the bottom edge of the door to clear the fender skirt.

Any suggestions? All other door seem to be OK.

Thanks!

This is a good idea. I may try to adjust the fender skirt first? Not sure there is much adjustment. I have a new set of “hooks” for the skirts I got from Jason. Maybe that will solve the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion!

How does the door fit the body of the car?  Does the top rear corner of the door alight up with the top of the quarter panel? If not, the door needs adjusting. If it does align with the quarter panel, then adjust the skirt.

Russ has the right idea on determining what to adjust. I would take a hard look at the door side that opens and closes correctly and look at the ridge light at rear of door and how it continues to the ridge line on the rear qtr, even using a yardstick or something straight and lay across the door and rear qtr, then comparing to the side the door is hitting the skirt. If it is about the same adjust the skirt. If door is obviously drooping, adjust the door. If you need good tight rear door hinges I have a large selection of tight hinges, but these usually hold up pretty good.

I agree. This seems to be a this weekend project as I dont want it to continue damaging the paint. Any tips on adjusting the skirt?

If you need to adjust the skirt, look at the gap on the good side between body and skirt, then loosen the bracket on the side that needs adjusting. You don't have to completely remove the bolts, just loosen enough to move around. You will probably end up just moving it down a bit and retightening.  I don't think there is much play with those brackets but some.

Thanks! Thats about what I figured.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
