Traveling from North Carolina to Texas in January - Can Delivery Large Items

I will be driving my Escalade EXT from NC to TX around January 22, 2024 and can deliver windshields, transmissions, rear ends, gas tanks, doors and other large parts to locations in route for a nominal fee. The map below going through SC, GA, AL, LA, and MS to Orange TX then on up to Dallas area is the most likely route but can vary this as needed.

Two items in particular I would love to put in the hands of someone that could use is a 63-64 Convertible & 4 Window Sedan windshield with the tan bar at top and one with the blue bar at top. I cannot and will not ship these but I can deliver if you our in route from NC to TX.  Note, if you have one of these body styles and drive it you will eventually get that rock in the windshield and need another one. I am sell these these for $200, which drops to $150 for Chapter Members. As my dad would say, you can't beat that with a stick!

Just a quick update. I will be dropping off a grill in Columbia SC, Jan 21 then heading on toward probably Columbus GA area which is about 1/2 way point to my uncle's house in Orange TX. I can veer course a bit if someone in route needs something. Just give me  a shout.

For a final update:

ON THE ROAD JAN 21 TO 30TH!
Just an fyi that I will be on the road and away from my parts January 21st to 30th. If you need something you need to let me know between now and Friday, January 19th, else it will need to wait until after the 30th.

I WILL BE TRAVELING FROM NC TO TX and back, can deliver large items for a small fee. So far I will be taking a lower grill to SC then a windshield all the way to TX.
So, if you think I may have something larger you need, and I am will be on your route...GIVE ME A SHOUT at EMAIL jasonedge64@outlook.com.

CADMIUM UPDATE:
Also, I did just pickup my last 9th batch of cadmium plated fasteners. All of the larger rack plated stuff was gorgeous, but the 3 bins full of barrel plated nuts and bolts were too silvery and for the first time I "rejected" part of a batch and left it with the platers to replate! The good news is it has already been replated and I will pick up Thursday (it is in Winston-Salem NC about 2 hrs away) and will get it back home and that is about all I will have time to do. My wife will start the sorting process and in the weeks and months after I return I can start filling the back order on my Wait List and sharing to my parts page. I have posted a picture of a small portion of the rack plated stuff below.  (That 4 bladed fan was some wall candy bling to hang on the garage wall... not factory.  I always throw in a few extra odds and ends for kicks and grins.)

So if you have a building order you want shipped before I leave on the 21st, or just want to order something, or arrange delivery for a larger item in route to TX, email me at jasonedge64@outlook.com

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

Posted by Les Eastling on November 15, 2023 at 10:34am 1 Comment

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
