Dino Diaries - July 5, 2025 - Cad Plated Trans Linkage Installed
My '64 Coupe de Ville Dino has been sitting up on the 12" wheel cribs forever waiting for me to slide back under it and tackle some cleaning, painting and replacing some of the hardware with cadmium plated goodies as I go along. Between the Grand National and many house projects I have been putting everything off, however I finally pulled the trigger, slide back under and started with replacing the transmission linkage assembly which bolts to the left frame rail. See picture below.
I have a trunk load of cad plated goodies and will start installing as it makes sense. I will report on other projects later but thought I would share some undercarriage bling.
If you have a 1964 Cadillac with the Turbo HydraMatic transmission (deVilles and Fleetwoods) I have several of these transmission linkage sets available for $80 which drops to $60 with Chapter discount. That is a lot of cad plated hardware for $60 and takes me considerable time to put the sets together.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
