Putting things back together under the hood and need to know how battery cables are routed and where negative cables hooks to engine. Please show pictures when replying if possible. Positive cable goes over radiator support I know but how is ground properly routed?

Actually just returning home from a concert and saw the post... so just good timing!

A few more wiring questions:

1- The main wiring plug that comes thru the fire wall, where the antenna wire splits off there is another black wire that also splits foo at the same place. Where does it go? Ground to firewall?

2-Where does the DG wire come from that goes to the engine temp sensor come from?

Which leg of the main engine harness?

3-The yellow wire to the oil pressure sensor, it splits out of the harness and with it a black wire also splits out. Where does it go?

Pictures will help if possible with answers.

Thanks for any help guys

Wayne, I'm getting to ready to  head out of town early tomorrow and will answer quickly. If you look at your wiring schematics it will answer most of your questions.
Here is a quick rundown.
1. Yes. Ground to firewall about 1" from there antenna cable comes through firewall. There is really only one place it can attach unless someone has drilled additional holes in the firewall.

2. Look at the picture I have already posted of cranking harness. You see the dark green wire on one end,  now look up over top left and you see a connector with a green and yellow wire. The green wire and yellow wire attach to another connector with green wire and brown wire on other side right at the fuse box. Note the other connectors of the cranking harness that connects to the fuse box. That is your clue that it has to connect somewhere near the fuse box. The green wire on the other side goes to the temp gauge.

3. Yellow oil pressure wire goes through the firewall via the large Junction Block on fire wall. It is NOT part of the cranking harnesses assembly. This is clearly noted in the wiring schematics as it shows it going thru with the large junction block (2/3's down center of page).

Since this has gone way beyond battery cable routing it might be good to start breaking down the different wiring questions via separate posts since the latest involves antenna cable and ground, forward lamp harness oil sender unit wire, and the temp gauge wire routing.  I would first study the wiring diagram. I answered 2 of your questions really without looking at a picture. The antenna wire question is a bit vague but the wiring does show a ground .. just doesn't give perspective of where it is, but since the short ground braid is only a couple inches long there is not  much else it would connect to except the firewall. I don't mind helping but it is also good to familiarize yourself with the wiring schematic and just general layout of how wires run pt A to B in the Engine Component. If everything was already stripped out that makes things difficult. That is one ready I take a lot of pictures before I start removing anything.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
