I have a contact that is trying to track down a 1963 Cadillac Coupe de Ville with VIN # 63J037220 that was owned by her father (huge sentimental value). The car was sold to a man in Pompano Beach, FL about 10 years ago, who passed away last year. She has confirmed with Florida DMV that the car was never retitled and still shows in her father's name. She has tried to track down the car's history from the deceased man's family, friends, etc and no one seems to have any knowledge of the car. She said the car was running poorly when her dad sold it, and would have been a good candidate for a parts donor or perhaps a full restoration.  From our phone conversation I believe she said it was sold for $1600. She has checked Car Fax, and other national auto entities, and even hired a private investigator and came up empty and as a last ditch effort is reaching out to the Cadillac Community.

I told her, given the cars condition (Fair/#4) and the fact 31,749 1963 Coupe de Villes were produced there is a good chance it was parted out. I went on to tell her I part cars out and would check my list but most of mine came from NC area with only a few from FL.  I told her there is a chance the buyer from 10 years ago sold it, and it was just never retitled and is sitting in someones garage or perhaps out back, or again could have been parted out. I also told her if it went to another state and was retitled they should have done a national title search and report back to FL if someone tried to title it but know that states are different in how they handle out of state cars, especially older ones where most of the DMV don't even know where to look for a VIN #.

So, the young lady has done her homework, and I am asking any of my 1963 Cadillac Contacts if you know what happened to the 1963 Cadillac with VIN # 63J037220? If you do email me at jasonedge@nc.rr.com and will relay the info to the contact.

thanks!  Jason.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
