I am constantly scanning pre-digital pictures, and of course get excited when I see the old Cadillac related pictures and often do a TBT picture on Facebook. Today I posted this picture below from Jan 1998, with my growing fleet of Cadillacs under covers with a light snow on the ground. This was a couple years before I would get the 3 bay garage built so everything was outside! Oh... those were the days! LOL

Ever had any problems having your own scrapyard on your property?

Here in Sweden they will jump on you if you take cars apart in your backyard. Rural areas being more relaxed though.

These were all drivers except one. Licensed, tagged and ready to roll. I will post an amusing additional TBT set of pictures later today. At one point I had 5 licensed, titled and tagged 1964 Cadillacs that I was driving around the fruited planes of North Carolina like it was no one's business.

Not sure if you read My First Parts Car article in the September Newsletter. It gives insight into where I was in my Cadillac Game Plan. The set of pictures in that article were from December and Christmas time 1997. The pictures above, and the others I will post later were January 1998 ... just a few weeks later. I actually took that 1st parts car to the metal yard that month and is in the same set of pictures I just scanned.  At a point I sold some of the drivers, parted some, and decided to focus on one Cadillac - my 1964 Coupe de Ville, my 1st, bought Nov 13, 1996.

In Garner, NC you can have one car that does not run and not tagged. It has been rare that I have had more than one "parts car" at a time, and the very few instances one was probably sitting up on a car hauler.   If anyone ever had an issue I could always pull into the garage..which would be tight to work on!

Hey Jason, have you ever considered rebuilding some of the donor cars or buying project cars and getting them back on the road again?

If my wife saw that snow, she'd be wanting to move there... She's Norwegian, so any sight of snow gets her juices flowing.....hmmm, on second thoughts....hey honey, check this picture out....no, not him, the snow ya silly woman... PMSL

Kevin, As I tell most people, I have restored all 47 parts cars I have brought in... just onto Dino and other 63 and 64 Cadillacs. I've spent 50K on my 64 CDV that market price might bring 15K to 20K on a good day, but to me it is priceless. I estimate it would take me about the same amount to do any other car, especially considering mine was in pretty decent shape...just high mileage. I would love to have one more beater car like the 64 Sedan de Ville you see in the other thread to just bang around in.
Since I'm in retro mode posting the article about my 1st parts car and sharing some of my 1st other driver cars, I will say that "fix'em all up led me to the picture below .... 5 driver cars with grand illusions of restoring them all, with a 6th one under wraps just in case I got bored.

After 3 to 5 years getting basically nowhere I sold 3 drivers, parted 2 out and decided to focus on:
1) restoring Dino
2) all other cars brought in would be parts cars
3) see # 1

Ha ha ha,  I see you point Jason. That is a great photo.

Hey Tony, I was full of it, want I! Still Full of It! Always, been full of it! LOL

Geez Tony, you sucking up again........LOL Look out Jason, Tony must be needing parts soon. PMSL

I think like all of us, I just enjoy everything about these old Cadillacs. Of course Dino will never be sold while I am still kicking and breathing, and glad I latched on to the idea of "Dino & the Parts Cars" way back instead of trying to drive & restore 5 or 6 at once.. which didn't work out that well .. but it sure was fun to just go jump in a different car each day! LOL

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
