Hi everyone,I’ve been working on freeing up the passenger side ashtray on my 63. You can push the ashtray in all over the unit and it won’t release. The only way to get it to flip down is to push the top of the trip lever assembly manually through the glovebox.I smushed the pictured stretched string back somewhat but no dice. The hose coming out of the right side of the valve seems to be the supply line for vacuum. It goes up to the bulkhead on the firewall. The nib is circled in red and also pictured is the backside of said bulkhead, from the engine bay,…"

I took mine apart and there appeared to be one with one end broken. Just checking my work. "

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
