Hi Everyone, I want to remove my ignition lock assy and have the cylinders corrected to the doors. I have read the manual and it says insert a paper clip (0.035"dia) in the release hole and turn the key to the left.
Sounds easy but I have 2 release holes and I am having trouble sticking paper clips and turning the key at the same time. So I know the lock assy is not per the manual but it is a GM key. Any suggestions..its one of those simple things that get you chesed after about 45 minutes..Tom

Quick question: Is the ignition switch still mounted in the car or do you have it out? When I removed my lock cylinder it was so I could move it to my new ignition switch. I could not pull the cylinder out while the switch was not mounted in car but when it was in the dash it was easy. I think it's because it needs to be held securely while pushing in on the paper clip ond turning the key counter clockwise. Note: it will only go a fraction of an inch from ACC to release. Well that's all I got. Good luck.
still nothing..the clip must not be lined up right...
I'm not sure why you have 2 release holes but you must turn the key to ACC 1st then insert the paper clip. The stock lock cylinder has a release hole in approximately the 2 o'clock position so if you have one there, try that 1st.. You should feel spring tension against the paper clip if it is lined up correctly. While pressing the paper clip in turn the key further to the left until it stops then the lock cylinder will pull straight out with the key. All of this will happen with very minimal force. If any effort is required to turn the key STOP. Something is wrong and you don't want to break the key off.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
