Just curious.. what would be the advantage,,, 

i was watching car show to day, and they put a fuel injection on a 69 rivera,, and were extolling the virtues.. this is a down the road thought i am putting in my suggestion box.. 

just want ing to see options for down the road and if they are worth the time and money

Ok lots of Internet information here, let's not get facts mixed up with Internet lore. Today's gas is about the best it's ever been, PERIOD! Older engines that ran on leaded gas had problems with recidivation of the valve seats BECAUSE the unleaded gas was junk then. Although it's a good idea to have hardened valve SEATS installed IF your doing some head work or engine rebuild its not necessary today because the gas is much better.
Ethanol is alcohol. The exact same as the stuff in beer, wine and vodka. Gas line antifreeze and gas dryer is methanol. One guess what methanol is? That's right it's alcohol too. When you add methanol to your tank your diluting you gas with more alcohol so stop wasting your money on that crap.
Water and gas don't mix. Water and alcohol do mix. Guess what mixes with gas? Alcohol! So now we buy a blend of gas with 10% alcohol if any water gets into the system the alcohol will blend with it and allow it to burn off with the gas it's mixed with. Take some pure rubbing alcohol and mix in about 10% water and lite it on fire. There will be nothing left because the water burned off with the alcohol and it does the same in your engine.
Since the alcohol mixes with water it no longer sits at the bottom of gas stations tanks it come out with the alcohol. It's that water that is in the alcohol that causes corrosion in our fuel systems. This is a simplified explanation but that's the jist of it.
On to fuel lines. If you have original fuel, vent, filler neck or vapor lines REPLACE them they are FIFTY years old. People die and cars are lost because of this. You'd be hard pressed to find any replacement fuel line today that isn't alcohol compatible. (Please don't post ten places that sell the wrong junk) Now you've killed two birds with one stone safety and well, safety.
On to fuel injection. How does your car run now? These things with carburetors properly set up run great. Fuel injection properly set up run great. One quick question, can you look at a nut or bolt on a car and walk twenty feet to your tool box and pick out the exact size wrench first try? (Without looking at sizes) ok two questions, (sorry I lied) can you turn out the lights, put on a blindfold, tie one hand behind your back, tape two fingers to your palm, lay down on a gravel driveway, crawl under the car, reach around a hot exhaust and tighten that nut behind the engine? If yes then your ready for fuel injection.
Fuel injection is NOT a simple affair. Sorry but that's the facts carburetors aren't either but there are a ton of people around who do know a bit about them. Infact if you call a CARBURETOR shop and tell them what engine you have they can pretty much make that carb a drop on affair. They also have electric chokes to do away with the heated ones we have on these cars, pretty modern stuff right?
Heat soak? Why is that even a question? Tony lives in Florida and it can get pretty hot there in the summer. I don't think I've ever heard him mention heat soak as a problem. Do you have comfort control? If yes then your already there as they have a vapor return line that prevents vapor lock.
I just repaired the comfort control and added Fitech fuel injection along with several other goodies to my Cadillac. Total price tag of around five grand. If I had brought it to a shop to have it done the price tags would have been well over fifteen grand. I put in about two hundred and fifty hours at $80 per hour that's twenty g's alone. Are you ready to commit that much of your funds? There are no instructions that come in the box to install ANYTHING on these cars LOL let alone the fuel injection.
Enjoy that car for a bit, learn a bit then see where you want to go with it. Think of it this way, what was important to you last year or two years ago? Two years from now where do you think your priorities will lie with this car? If you can honestly say it will still be important then make the investment and enjoy it.
I've worked on things my whole life. I didn't wake up one day and decide to work on things. I do it because it's a hobby and it challenges me. Most of the time I know the answer before the question is asked for this stuff. I'm concerned that you could spend a lot of money because it looks easy or someone tells you it is and it definitely is not. There are tons of old cars sitting all apart in guys garages because they didn't realize the monumental amount of work involved. Beer bottles don't fix or finish cars. Hard work, dirty filthy hands, necks, arms and cut up fingers and knuckles do.
I'm sorry if I sound like I'm on a bit of a rant but I don't want you to get caught up in Internet hoopla and crash and burn because it wasn't what you thought.
Tony is our resident cheer leader and he'll tell ya what a great privilege it is to drive one of these beauties factory fresh as its in his family from day one.
Good luck now get out and enjoy that Cadillac
Speaking of dirty hands. This is just from a windshield gasket install. Black urethane take a few days to come off this was day two.

Very well said. I would like to know more on your Fitech fuel injection. What nice with fuel injection it always adjust for fuel and air and other things which keep your car fine tuned. Is this correct?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. accumulator dryer

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
