Well, after being sure or, pretty sure no head gasket problem,, i took her for a ride,, i had notice the other day when i was doing some short rides to get up to temp, and felt like the brakes were tight,, i could nt roll off a stop light, not a free roll, it felt as if brake was lightly touched. anyway, decided to day to check rear brakes as i had just re done them back in dec. so off with the wheels and they seemed quite difficult to turn,,they aren't as free wheeling as the front wheels,, just took effort. so, i took off the drum, checked the brake stuff, it seemed like drums tuff to get off and lots of dust. but while i was turning,, i heard this (see video) now I'm no einsten, but can imagine this metal on metal sound being real good. AND a touch of stuff coming out of the next section of the wheel assembly where the 4 bolts are..
i then checked the help section, and if those are the four or five options i have , minor leak at ends near wheel, i may need to replace the seal.. would that be correct? or is there something else i should do before getting into this.. also, is this in my wheelhouse of skills..
once again, thanks for any thoughts regarding this new thing,

It sounds like a bolt head is rubbing on something. Check the fluid level to the differential. The area in question should be bone dry, but very minor seepage has been left for years without any bad effects. As long as the shoes don't get wet.
Ok. I just replaced the gear oil back in december, maybe it needs to be checkex again after usage. Everyhing around the gear box appears dry. Shoes not wet, just lot of dust, has a sweetish smell, just some dribble down the bottom.
Dnt think that clinking is a concerning issue at this point? Just reset brakes and carry on?
Dnt remember now, but it dies go away w both drum s on
i got castor full synthetic 10-30, high mileage with the lucas zddp additive, at least for now. i have ordered the amsoil. its just not easily available, seems you have to order it all the time,, not in stock any were, least not were i live

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
