I'm putting the top of the engine back together, and got to looking at that spacer that sits under the carb, and the gasket, i dont remember having two gaskets there on the removal but I woulda thought it would be a good place for two, so,
from the block up, which is correct. its the plastic spacer then the gasket then the carb or gasket, spacer then carb,, i took pictures of all the carb connections, but thought i could remember this,, and didnt,, i read the manual but didnt find any photos or blow up s to show what the order was..
also, when putting the valley pan back on, it was really tough to get it on , as the new gasket is thicker than the one that came out,, the old one i guess had dried and shrink, so the back lip of the pan sat underneath the lip of the part in the back, I'm guessing a heat register or sensor with a wire out the top. the new one, sits on the side of that piece, so i had to do a bit of whacking to get the valley pan all the way down, maybe the other part is not correct and shouldn't protrude out as much, but, i think it is all the way down now,, otherwise, i guess i will find out when it spews out the back,,

Thanks, i read both prior to asking queztion! And neither registered...oh well. Again thanks
Is the circled part an original piece? As i referred in above, the new gasket is thick or the other was very dried out, and you can see the old pan lip picture is hooked under the lip. New installating wouldnt line up the screws properly, so i kthe pan would go flat in the rear, so inhad to sort of pound it down, but im hoping it didnt hurt that other part. Im just wondering if this is a replacemenT and has a wider circumfrence.
That's the oil pressure switch. It looks like an original or similar replacement part to me.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
