Thinking a bit ahead, i thougt about the distributor.  As i havnt put on the heads and seeing the pistons approach top, would this be a good time tonput it back in.  I marked the cap on disassembly, by my spark wires as the were in the car in the old engine.  I hvnt put in the distributor before so ive been reading and you tubing to get a visual reference, but most are w engine in and heads on.

I hv my rockers done, my springs and all done, and am looking to attach to block in nxt day or so.  Front cover is obviuosly on given HB discussion.   So would it be a good idea to try and put it in before heads or after.  I know i need to get the bottom end on so, put oil in and prime engine via drill and a 12mm bit, but after that, would the distrubtor be nxt?

Doesnt matter one way or the other.  with the heads on, you can see the piston through the spark plug hole.

Just make sure that when you install the distributor, you line up the rotor with the piston at the top of the compression stroke.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
