I'm having a shop replace outside seals/gaskets on engine and tranny. Engine was losing 3/4qt. every 250mi. So far only a small drip on rear main.
Bought an outside seal kit for tranny. sealed up dipstick, shift shaft, that went fine. Pan not so good. Went out and found a puddle under tranny for the second time after sitting the weekend. Going in for the third time to try and get it right. Are we missing something?? The shop about only deals with classic and performance stuff so he ain't no fly by night. I know you're only guessing on diagnosis but thought I'd throw it out there
Thanks for any suggestions.

Try a straight edge over the face of the pan.
Over time, often to fix leaks, folks swing off the bolts like their doing up wheel nuts, which will buckle/distort the clamping face.
The pan can be beaten back into shape ok.
Could this be a torus check valve problem? after sitting a couple days I end up with a puddle under the tranny. If so, I assume this is a tranny tear down to fix

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
