That is for the power door locks.
I guess this does directly to the intake manifold?
The large vacuum tank on firewall on left side under left fender is used for cars equipped with vacuum power trunk or vacuum power door locks. The one hose feeds straight back into the cabin for trunk lock and/or door lock operation, while the other line goes across over to the fitting on the back of the intake.
That back of intake on 63 cars usually has 3 nipples: one goes back up to the connector in center of the large forward wiring harness connector on firewall that in turn feeds Neutral Safety Switch and heat or heat/AC system; one goes up to the vacuum throttle check valve mounted to the throttle relay bracket on firewall; and the 3rd goes over to the power door lock/power trunk vacuum canister in your picture.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
