I am trying to figure out the original colours for the interior of my 64 deVille convertible. The car colour is Matador Red 50-1, the top is 1 and the trim code is 28. All I can find is white leather with red carpet. Is the steering wheel and dash suppose to match the exterior colour of Matador red or is it different? I'm trying to go back to original colour scheme. Thank you in advance Larry

Larry, the details on what is what color on the interior is in the Spec Manual. I have inserted a copy for the 64-6267 convertible below. You will note that for trim code 28 everything is white, except the Instrument panel cover & extensions, steering wheel grips, shifter, directional signal & adj steering wheel lever caps (the column lever shift end caps) where all dark red, and the carpet was dark red. They didn't have different shades of red carpet as I recall but a standard dark red. If trying to match up maybe you have some you can cut out out from under the seats or door sill plates, etc.
Here is that spec manual scan:
perfect thanks
Thanks Jason That's a big help

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
