Really getting into the Grand National Mode now as I have turn my focus on cleaning up Brutus out (my 2002 Escalade EXT) which I will drive from NC to Chicago and have judged, and what I want to take!  I have been in contact with the Chapter Members that have indicated they are going and am looking forward to seeing them at the GN and especially at our Chapter Meet-Up on Friday, June 24!

So.. here are some quick stats for anyone curious:

- We have roughly 18 Chapter Members attending or about 28 when you count spouses, etc.

- As of June 4, there were 177 cars registered for the GN. Of those 117 are judged and 60 are display only.  (I am told the final number is 180)

- As of June 4, there are 334 CLC Members Attending the GN. With spouses and partner’s it looks like a total of 555 registered for the GN.
With kids, etc. there will probably be well over 600 in attendance.

Just a reminder that I am collecting names of Chapter Members attending the 2022 GN in Chicago.

I currently have 17 Chapter Members attending.

- I am 95% sure we will have our Chapter Meet-Up in my suite. It is a deluxe corner suite and understand they are roomy, not a lot of seating but we can bring in some more chairs from the hotel.  This will allow us to have a more casual get together and  you can come and go as you like.

- It has been way too long since we have been to a Grand National and look forward to seeing many of you.

- Keep in mind early registration (for the cheaper rate) ends May 20 ... so sign up today.

I have started putting together a Chapter Attendee's List for the 2022 Grand National and so far we have about 14 members confirmed for the Friday June 24, 6-10pm Chapter Members.  I am tentatively planning to have an informal "come as you can" meet-up between 6pm and 10pm in our hotel suite. If the # attending gets very large we will look to meet-up at a nearby restaurant with a private area.

Just to add, Cheryl and I will be at the hotel Sunday, April 19, to Sunday, April 26.  Feel free to drop by during the week. I will be driving my 2002 Escalade EXT and enter for Touring judging, meaning I can bring some of my Cadillac Literature and "stuff". I have some extras of some things and we may have a door prize drawing.

If you are a Chapter Member and have not notified me that you will be attending, please email me the details at jasonedge@nc.rr.com.  I will email the attendee's list to those attending a few days before the GN so we know who is going, when they will be their, and what they are bring, and of course so I can plan the meet-up.

Below is mine & Cheryl's GN itinerary with off site excursions noted in bold.

Tue 6/21: Driving Tour down Old Route 66, 8am to 4:30pm
Wed 6/22: Cadillac Queens Meet-Up, 3 to 4:30pm (Cheryl)

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 13 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
