Recently, I was having some idle issues and found the vacuum at idle was very low. After testing everything I found the Idle Step Up Actuator had a leaking diaphragm. I contacted Daytona Parts to see if they had any, they didn't but said they could rebuild my actuator. I sent the actuator to them for the rebuild and was pleasantly surprised to receive it back looking like new. It looks great and holds vacuum with my MityVac. Hope it is pretty close to the proper adjustment when I get it installed.

Looks fantastic.

Thanks Russ. For many years I've read on the CLC board how good these folks are. This is my first experience doing business with them, I'm very pleased with the outcome and transaction.

After posting the pictures, I installed the actuator. After dialing in the adjustment, it works as well as it looks!

Wow! That's a used part? Very nice work. Mind if I ask how much for the rebuild?

Clovis, Yes, it is the original part to the car. Rebuild including the return shipping was  $62. I'd say it's as close to new as you can get.

Looks like new yellow/gold zinc coating too? Probably almost worth the price for that alone!

Jason, they did refinish the part. It was a dull worn original finish when I mailed it off. The above 2010 picture shows what it looked like in the "before" condition.

I added Daytona Parts to our Parts Suppliers Page.

I'm going to check mine for leaks. Always good to get into that habit with our older cars.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
