Get an assistant to help. Have the helper open and hold the hood all the way up. You will loosen the bolts on the back mount bracket to the hinges, and on the firewall.
Now push them down along the firewall as far as they will go. Tighten the bolts on the firewall only. Now loosen the bolts on the front of the hood hinges. Have the assistant push up on the hood. Be mindfull of the back of the hood, so it does not ding the fender chrome trim.
With the assistant pushing up, tighten all the bolts.
Now use an oil or axle grease to lube up the hinge pivot points.
As a note, you are not touching the bolts that bolt the hood to the hood hinge, just the hood hinge brackets.
Ok. Will give it a try when i can find help, thanks
I'm sorry to say but mine was like that for years until I had a front end Accident and an auto body shop fixed it. I ask them how they did it? They said it took three men and hours of adjusting to get it right. Every time you would move one part the other part had to be adjusted until they got it right.
Guess i will give it a try, to syat out of body shop
Yeah, body whole different thing, car seems to be going ok. Gonna hold off card rebuild i think . If car sputters again , just gonna gas it and consider it intermittant unexplained untill it becomes a consistent repeatable problem
Hvnt gotten under there yet, planning on tomorow or wed.
If you go to the search bar at the top of the web page and type in hood alignment, you will find a lot of information on the subject. I hope this helps you
thanks,, i see that thread now,, shoulda checked first,,
this pictures look just like mine,,

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
