Uniroyal, Good Year and Firestone... I think, were three of the brands available?

Kevin has got 3 of the tire manufacturers for Part 1 of the Trivia, but there is one more, so we are still looking for the 4th manufacturer, and the answers to 2, 3 and 4. Also, just to note, would have taken US Royal (the tire brand) or Uniroyal (the tire company).

would Yokohama be the 4th brand?

Nope.  The 4th one is a biggie in the US...or has been.

Yep, Mark names the 4th Tire Manufacture to complete #1 of the 4 part question. Just to add:
The 1963 and 1964 Specification Manuals lists
US Royal, Firestone, Goodrich, and Goodyear
however, the dealer data book only lists
US Royal, Firestone, Goodrich
I would have taken either answer but Goodrich had to be included

Nope, not the answer.

Ok, lets see how close I can get.

1.  Name the tire manufactures that provided tires for 1963/64 Cadillacs?

Yokohama, Uniroyal, Good Year and Firestone.

2.  What was the standard tire for the 1963/64 Cadillacs?

8:20 x15 Firestone.

3 . What was the optional tire for the 1963/64 Cadillacs?

A white wall tire for the "Normal Production" stuff and a heavy duty variant for the series 75 and commercial chassis stuff.

4.  For which Cadillacs was the optional tire recommended?

See answer to question # 3.

1. Goodyear, U.S. Royal (Uniroyal), Firestone are correct. Yokohama is not.
2. Only partially correct on tire size, and no standard tire brand, all 4 were used.
3.  incorrect. think about what would have been standard fare and what would have been considered an upgrade.
4. incorrect.  it involves equipment, and not a particular body style.

An upgrade would be a radial tyre/tire then.

Is Radial correct... oh great fearless leader?

Not unless you could have invented a time machine.  Radials were introduced on Cadillacs in 1972.

...and I thought #2 would be the trick question...hint.

Mark, You have #3 exactly and almost have #2. Look at the tire size again.
Still looking for #4. It is not in terms of an option group but something Cadillac recommended for a particular option for a particular reason.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
