"The vacuum unit you are showing has already been replaced. The unit I am speaking about controls the flow of air between the floor/ac ducts. It is mounted inside the rear half of the heat/ac assembly and the retaining nuts are facing the firewall."

I am not having issues with with my vacuum unit but have been looking at what it would take to replace it if became necessary. Can the 2 nuts that hold it to the rear plenum be reached from the inside without removing the plenum? The rear plenum is very close to the firewall and it appears that space is quite limited to access the nuts on the backside of the plenum.See More

Speedometer Drive Gear

When driving my 63 the speedometer reading is about 5 to 7 faster than what I am actually traveling. I have not removed the gear to count the number of teeth it has. The rear axle ratio is 3.21. Does anyone know how many teeth the gear should have at that ratio? And if is is incorrect, where can I source a new gear? Also, does anyone know of a chart that shows the number of teeth required for a given ratio? I am running Hankook Optimo H724 235-75R-15 tires. ThanksSee More

I am having extreme difficulty trying to have my car shipped. My brother and I have gotten nothing but the run around from 2 companies. Can anyone recommend a decent auto transport company? My car is in Carlsbad CA and I need it shipped to Norfolk/Virginia Beach. Thanks

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

accumulator dryer

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
