Also, keep in mind they often changed castings and made minor changes throughout the year. Go to the Oil Pan and you will see it without baffle, with baffle, without baffle in same year.
No oil leak! LOL If you had one with the hold tapped thru, and were concerned it would be easy enought. Of all the cover pictures I have on file (about 8 I only have 2 where it looks like that hole is filled.
You have many threaded "holes" that screw into the block and are just open and the thread seals the hole. It would probalby not be a good ide to remove that bolt (or any other) that screws into the engine. For reference I checked the 3 covers I had on hand when I rebuilt my engine last May and all 3 had the thread hole. I don't know which one in this picture I used but regardless it has the factory hole all the way through:
I would not think so. The oil in this chamber is not under pressure. It splashes around to lube the timing chain & distributor gears then drains into the oil pan. With the PVC operating properly it should be under a slight vacuum. A bolt in that hole should keep the oil in nicely.
threaded hole for water pump bolt. bolts from front side.
Item is sold. If you need one of these hard to find items like this and can wait, send me an email and will add you to my "Needs List" and will get back with you when I have one available. I've had several items off the 63 CDV I just pulled in that filled items requested 2, 3 and 4 years ago. I had run down my list for the front cover and when I don't have anyone else on the list, will simply post a "hot" item like this up for sale...and usually don't last but a few hours. This piece was gone 60 minutes.

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
