Jason,
I was very interested in your article on "Dino". A well documented vehicle is a great project and achievement. Your comment on the outlet codes is the reason for this post.
I had been researching my 1963 62 Series Convertible and because the original owner protection plan listed the Cadillac Owner's Identification and the Selling Dealer as Cadillac Motor Car Division I was curious. When I requested an information from the GM Archives, I included this information. When I received the response it confirmed the fact that it was a factory executive's car. The Outlet code for my car is 943040, Cars in Co. Use for M.E. Fields, as shown on the attached list. I do not know if there are more codes than what I received but additional information may be available in the GM Archives. I hope this helps anyone else researching their car. Enjoy!

So here is a little information from inside GM. There is and has been a program in GM where an employee of a certain level was assigned a current production vehicle to drive and evaluate. I was part of this program while employed at GM. It was called the PEP program which stood for Production Evaluation Program. The amount of time that you drove the vehicle varies between 3 and 6 months and those vehicles were then sold as used cars either to dealers or on the open market. It sounds like your vehicle was part of this program back in the day.
Patrick,
I knew that it would take someone that worked for GM in the past to add some explanation of the auto's use. M.E. Fields was the assistant sales manager for the Central Region. I am currently in communications with someone who knew this gentleman. I will keep you updated. Thank you for the information.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
