I have a 1964 Convertible that has a replace elderblock carburetor and I'm looking to see how I can get a kick down for the tranny. I think the original carb. had one but I do not have it with this car. Any idea's?
Thanks

The Turbo Hydramatic equipped 1964 Cadillacs (both convertible body styles) would have had the electric kickdown switch mounted on back left/driver side of the carb. I never connected mine as it seemed to have plenty of pickup without but plan to tackle it sometime. With that said, I do believe some of fabricated an electrick switch to the carb to replication the original kickdown switch. Perhaps someone will see this and post a link or pictures and details.
As a reference you can see the original setup with kickdown switch and attachment on throttle plate the depresses the plunger on a Carter AFB setup. Note the pink wire from ignition, and the white wire that goes down to transmission (looks yellowed in this picture but originally white).
The original switch mount bracket mounted to the carb side. The edelbrock does not have the attach points, but a bracket could possibly be made to mount to the top screws.
If you need a kick down switch, shoot me an email to russ85747@hotmail.com

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
