Here's the scoop. I have no paper trail whatsoever.

But at the 2017 Caddy Nationals at Tysons, VA. I ran into a guy that confirmed the rumor.

Winthorp Rockefeller ordered two of these 63 wagons from a coach builder in NJ. The man told me he worked for Mr. Rockefeller and remembered the wagons. Mine was originally dark blue, then Firemist red in the 1970s, then was painted Burgundy in 1985. I bought it from a man in Cape Cod. The car had rust issues and we had to get a new vista roof from a 1964 Olds wagon in Arizona. White Post Restorations is finishing up soon.

There is another 1963 station wagon, but its green with a Chevy wagon roof. Here it is, but I don't know who owns it.

The two Vista wagons were airport pickup cars and VIP transport for Mr. Rockefeller's guests.

Where the other Vista is I don't know.

Fascinating history and very unique and cool Caddy! We need to get you back in the CLC and Chapter and do a full in depth cover photo newsletter feature on this car! Write me a up a good story and provide some nice detailed hi res pictures and I will pay for a year's membership!

OK. Will do.

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 12 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
