We have a restoration forum  I never post much here but thought I would share an in progress restoration ... just one of many.

Those long coupe/convertible are rests are in pretty high demand and am reluctant to throw them out these days. I've had pretty good luck repairing minor cracks and respraying them black or white.  The last parts car had a really nice driver side arm rest and is headed to Australia. The passenger side had pretty decent side vinyl and OK top vinyl but 2 significant cracks.  In fact it was almost broke in half. Anway, I thought I would clean and try the epoxy trick and srape with the vinyl paint and see what I end up with.

So, here is what I'm starting with. Is it worth trying to save?

OK. Armrest is done. 1st a picture of  Pro Bond wood filler smoothed over, then after 3 coats of black vinyl spray.  Turned out pretty good.  It can of course be sprayed another color but black has always been the most requested color.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
