Good morning all,
I am a new member to your chapter...exited to be here.
I posed my question to Jason in an email, but figured I would ask the group for their insight also.
My 64 was a non ac car and I will be installing a Vintage Air Magnum system. I got the original motor mounts from Caddy Daddy and a new A6 style compressor from Old Air. I am questioning what to do with the cooling fan. From my reading on the forum, the non ac cars had a different fan setup (4 blades compared to 5 with a clutch fan).
What would you recommend ---
1. Install an electric helper fan against the radiator.
2. Replace the 4 blade with a clutch and 5 blade.
3. Replace the 4 blade with a 7.
Also, should I add a schrod?
Thanks in advance of your responses,
Bob

Bob ,I would install a seven blade fan , second choice would be a five blade with a good clutch.
A fan shroud is always better than no shroud. Shroud with a fan clutch and 7 blade fan.
Is there a fan clutch that will work with the 7 blade fan
Logan, Another member named Greg on here, Used a new Hayden severe duty fan clutch & a 1968 six blade Cadillac fan ,and stated it cooled his 1964 Fleetwood very well. But it also has a fan shroud . As Russ stated you need a fan shroud also for best cooling.
Currently, I have a 5 blade with clutch and shroud. And I have a severe duty clutch and 7 blade fan from 1964 as well. The severe duty clutch did NOT fit the factory 5 blade fan.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
