So I've been trying to price out the original cost for my 1964 Coupe deVille with all of the options it was ordered with.
This car was a Special Order paint job code 00 on the data tag. After pulling back some of the trunk lining, the original color appears to be code 48 Briar Rose (1963).
My question is this: What was the cost for special order paint in 1964?
I have an idea that it was probably the same cost as the Firemist paint option. I say this because in my 1965 dealer data book a price for both is listed at $134.40

The spec manuals have a description and place for price for both the Eldorado Firemist colors applied to other body styles and other special order colors, but it is blank. This was sometimes filled in by the dealer from the price sheets they received ... or was usually the case left blank ... at least from the spec manuals I have seen.
I have a 1963 and 1964 price sheet and neither have a typed line item for Eldo paint or special paint, but on the 63 price list (revised 10/17/62) someone wrote in the following: $215 Fire Frost. Spec. paint other than Fire Frost - $107.50. My 64 price list does not have anything. I have stacks of literature here and there and need to go through some of this and get organized. If I see something specific to 1964 SO paint I will post it.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
