I think Kevin wanted some more trivia so here is one I can give you from parts end of things.
Looking at the rear end assembly below, what is the weight?
Whoever gets it within 5 lbs gets the cigar!
NOTE: this is a Controlled Differential (posi) rear end but believe the weight would be close to the regular hypoid type rear end. Also note it does not include the control links or upper control arm.  And no, chain hoist were not weighed!! Just the net weight of the rear end assembly? Rear end does have rear end oil.
So.. who is going to get the cigar!!!!

47.2 Kilos if it has oil in it. (104.05lbs)

47.0 if its dry.  (103.39 lbs)

Has oil but way off!  You don't even get the filter end off a cig with that guess!
Just winding you up!

Another guess way off. You think that rear end weighs the same thing as a ballerina!

225 lbs.?

Oh, you mean the whole rear end... oh, I was just going with one side, so double my figures and see how I go. LOL

Kevin, the entire rear end is hanging on the scales! You mowing or smoking the weed! Hee Hee. I'll post another picture from the back above.

105 kg

Anders is closest so far with 105 Kg / 231 Lb but not quite there yet and No Cigar!
Hint: I have posted the weight of a rear end with the drums and brake parts removed .... so if you have been working out with 63/64 Cadillac brake drums lately you can probably get pretty close!!

How about 241 lbs.?

Getting closer! Not there yet!

Heavy enough to go truck freight only!!  253 pounds and a whole lotta ouch if you drop it on your toes?

Michael is getting close but not quite there yet!

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

accumulator dryer

Posted by CHRIS CARLSON on December 6, 2023 at 10:54am 0 Comments

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
