In addition to serving as the front engine cover, the 1963/64 Cadillac front engine cover also provides mounting for several other engine components. Who can list them out for the cigar?

oil pump, fuel pump, water pump, distributor, and the harmonic balancer, but it is not an accessory and it mounts to the crank.

Russ has 4 of the 6 I am looking for. Who can name the other 2?

Oil Filter brings us to 5, however the front cover provides mounting for one other main engine component.

Nope. Fan is mounted to water pump which Russ has already listed.

Just to add, front cover actually provides full mounting for 2 more engine components, one bigger, one smaller; and it provides partial mounting for another engine component.  Looking for remaining main component for cigar.

How about the timing marks?

Water pump crossover? Power steering pump?

Nope, Nope

Robert, that is another function of the front cover, however it is an integral part of the die-cast cover.  I am looking for other engine components that mount to the front engine cover.

OK ,how about the oil fill tube cap?

Robert you got it! The oil filler tube is the last main item which the front cover provides mounting.

Also, the front cover provides mounting for the front engine seal, and partial mounting for the oil pan via the front 2 lower studs and nuts. Needless to say, the front engine cover serves many purposes!

Hey! Hey! I finally won something, a cigar, after 58 years! I don't even smoke...

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
