What started as a paint job….
…has turned into a restoration.
On stripping we found this really bad attempt to deal with a spot of rust on the left rear quarter panel. Half a metal plate and a lot of bondo!

Because I can’t get lacquer in CA, I went through probably
50 paint chips to try to match the color to Aspen White (the original color on the trunk lid hinges. Believe it or not, Toyota #1 is almost indistinguishable to the eye (my eye anyway!).
Here is a picture of the hood as it was being color sanded.

Looks like mainly on a flat area. Shouldn't be too bad to repair by a decent body/metal person.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
