I agree that it should be saved and will make an offer today. Thanks for your time and input.
Just saw the other pictures and see it is a 6229. ..which is good and bad. It is bad in that less than 10K produced (see stats at http://6364cadillac.ning.com/profiles/blogs/price-and-production-to...), and not as many survivors meaning probably not a lot of demand for the interior specific pieces, but good in that there are few sources for this body style specific parts.
I'll also add that any car breaks down to 3000 to 5000 parts when you get down to the fasteners and small parts, and that wreck damage is probably less than 1 or 2% of the overall quantity of parts if you completely break it down. Keep in mind that everything from small items like the unique fillister head headlight bezel screws, to the trunk lid and everything in between can go toward restoring another car.
It would really be a shame if the car goes to the crusher. Most people look at these as a destroyed cars when they go to the crusher, but I look at it also as a lost potential to help restore several hundred other cars!
I posted more than one pic of this black sedan. You are correct, there is rust where the paint is gone, but over-all very solid. I only want it for parts for myself and to help other 64 owners. It is going to be crushed or so the owner says. That could just be a ploy to get me to save it.It reads 43000 miles, which by the condition might be accurate. Thanks for your advice.
Hard to tell from picture what rest of car is like. This is a 6 window Sedan which makes it worth a bit less than a 2 door coupe or convertible, but may still have a treasure trove of parts. A car like this with say a rebuilt engine and transmission, nice solid body panels (other than the damaged doors) lots of options, and other redeeming features could make it a great find and worth spending a bit more. When I look at the car full view and zoomed in I see rusting o the roof so assume has been sitting outside for some time. If it is just a typical high mileage 64, my price range for sedan parts cars is usually a few hundred dollars. Your decision is what you want to do with the car. If you need this for parts it will be great if it has enough similar parts (remember 12 body styles in 63 and 11 in 64 and many interior and styling items are different between them), and the price is right. If you want to buy to restore and enjoy, again could be a great find. Sedans are fun cars for cruising and hauling around friends and get the same # of looks as the 2 door cars. If you want to make money on the car, you will not make a cent even if the car is given to you for free as you will spend a ton on everything...except, again, if there are some redeeming features such as rebuilt drivetrain, redone interior, etc.
Thanks, any figure in mind? You know sellers, they always say its worth way more than it actually is.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.
There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
