Kevin, I have to disagree a bit as mine qtr side window leading edge rubber goes down about 3/8" below the metal channel and even with rear window up still have a decent gap.
I really do think as indicated before that by not having the top edge up and squared as it was originally on the car, and instead tapered inward that is the cause of most of the cap. I will say I've had my windows down most of the time and you really do have a big gap, however, with the rear window up it does take up some of the gap.
Here is a picture from the 63 CDV I just brought in. I believe this is the original door seal:
Now check out the tapered top of the door seal from Steel Rubber on my 64 CDV:
Now here is one with my rear qtr window up, with original rear qtr window leading edge seal extend a bit below the groove but still have some gap due to what I believe is the taper in the Steele Rubber gasket:
I looked at mine with replacement door seal and it has the same gap. I looked at the 63 parts car I just brought in and that seal should go straight up and square out to meet the body. Look at your seal at the top where it slopes up and inward...it should have been straight up and squared. I think that would almost seal all of that gap.
Russ...I don't think this has anything to do with the windows. The gap is at the top of doors below the windows. I really think there is supposed to be another piece of rubber at the top of door sealing off that area but cannot figure out what it is?

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
