Jason, question is your leather and vinyl the same color on the inside? I'm having my interior worked on and it seems the color of the leather is on the creamy side and the vinyl is white.

The 1964 Cadillac Specifications Manual. I only scanned the 64 CDV Section. there are trim codes, paint codes, and tons of other information about standard and optional items for each body style. You can sometimes find original or reprints on ebay. I have linked to the Photo Album I have saved these 64 CDV scans and will save additional scans in our Help Topics page.

If I could ask where are you pulling this information from?  This would be a great resource to have for issues in the future?

Thanks for the scans Jason...now I know that everything should be white which is what I was thinking. I'm guessing the leather has faded from a bright white to a faded white which would account the color differences.  My interior guy is going to use the vinyl as the color base and then bring the leather back to the correct color while repairing the cracks in it as well.  I consider myself very lucky with regards to the interior and that it has stood the test of time and only needs minor repairs...I would like to see a new vehicle hold up to 50 years of service, 4 owners and still look good.

For the 1964 Coupe DeVille trim code 48 is a Lime and White interior. White on the seat leather bolsters, and vinyl seat backs, sides and front, and lime on the seat inserts. Also a white lower dhas, and steering wheel, and headlining, and dark lime dash, and medium lime carpet. See the interior scans I just posted.

Just to add the optional white leather trim code for the 64 CDV is code 50. I started adding some interior scans from the specfication manual in this photo album link: http://6364cadillac.ning.com/photo/albums/interior-trim-codes-and-i...

What is your Trim Code on your body name plate?

Thank you to everyone for information...I'm at a loss as to why every piece of vinyl is white even the side metal pieces are white but yet the leather is more on the creamy side.  I called SMS today and they call the leather a natural white. I could understand some fading over time but the areas you mention Jason are not likely to fade. I'm going to work with my interior guy and see what we can do to put her back!!

Tony is partially correct. The Convertible DeVilles, unlike the Coupe DeVilles have leather in place of the fabric insert. There is still a lot of vinyl including the seat fronts, sides, and back, door side panels and rear lower side and rear qtr upper side, and rear convertible top covers. The seat bolsters, and arm rest tops front and rear are leather. If you step up the Eldorado it is all heater and wood grain.

The vinyl and leather should blend perfectly. They used leather on the DeVilles where you would have heavy wear (i.e. bolsters) and the vinyl on less used areas (i.e. front bottom seat and back of seat). For the devilles you could have opted for an all leather interior and where you have fabric on mine you would have had leather with a similar elongated diamond design with perforations in it. I sometimes wish mine was the all leather option.

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 13 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
