Along the painted metal portion above the grill there are small rubber type pieces along the length of the grill that I'm assuming are to fit against the hood. Does anyone know where to find those pieces I have one that is missing and a couple that appear broken or torn. I've been running into some pretty tough judges at shows.

When I saw them yesterday when I was quickly scanning the Steele Rubber online catalog my eyes immediately went to the bottom and mentally inverted them right sight up but wanted to make sure with the Cadillac part # they gave. I did go back and look at mine and I have one that is almost missing one tab..so it will be a nice little upgrade on my CDV also. If someone is missing say 1 or 2 of them, I will have a 6 extras to sell for say a couple of bucks each that I can combine with an order of something else. If all of your's are well worn I would go online and just order a set.
Thanks Jason, mine have no thickness left to them at all. Looking at the listing it would make sense that these would keep the hood from banging onto the grill. Seeing this picture I think I've seen these but not knowing what they looked like when new I passed over them.
Again thank you...you are two for three now all I need to find are those tin inserts. One popped up on ebay I think yesterday and keeping an eye on it.
I just ordered 2 sets for myself.
Kevin, Mine are all there but painted over. I think I can gently remove the paint but would just rather have new. I think I've tried to remove used but without much luck. I might try again.
Looking at the master parts book I think this is the part they are referring to as the Hood to Hood extension front Hood Panel Bumper which is part # 148 2384. Yesterday when I was looking thru Steele Rubber catalog I saw something that looked like them but upside down but wanted to go back and match #'s. I just pulled up there catalog and sure enough they say it replaced part # 148 2384.
The Steele Rubber # is 33-0861-42 and are $1.60 each.

Kevin,
I meant to get back with you. I read this morning and thought you were talking about the small rubber bumpers on top of the upper grill top triangular painted piece. These are the items circled in picture below. I pulled up Steele Rubber's PDF Catalog thinking they would have them but couldn't locate them right way but didn't research from end to end. If this is what you need I would like some new ones for my 64 CDV Also. Here is the picture:

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
