Any tips for securing hood insulation?

My hood insulation is falling down.  I've tried blowing the dust out with air then gluing it back with 3M adhesive spray.  It lasts for a day or two and then falls down.

Any tips for making it stay or do I just need to start fresh?

Well, they were on the car when I got it so this screw-up is on someone else lol!  I'll try to source some new ones I guess.

Executive summary:

“Specifically, 3M High Strength 90 rather than the lesser spray adhesive.  No clips or other fasteners.  If you really want to geek out on attaching, you can clamp a thin piece of wood over it while the adhesive sets and dries.”

“When you use contact adhesive the method is to spray a light coat on both surfaces and wait about 5 minutes and stick them together.  You get one shot at getting it on straight though.“

“I would recommend two things:  Be absolutely sure that all of the old adhesive has been removed and that you are down to the painted surface and that any oily residue has been removed.  There is adhesive removal spray that is paint friendly.  Second is to mask off any area that you do not want to get the contact adhesive sprayed onto, since it is difficult to spray exactly up to a line and still get adequate adhesive where you need it.  Get someone to help you with positioning the pad, because as Brian said, you only get one shot at getting it right!!!  Once you stick the pad in place, there is no adjusting it--it is stuck!!!“

When I did mine a few years ago, I used a generic brand of insulation, (cost about $85) which, in my opinion, looks better than the factory stuff anyway. Been in place for nearly 3 years now and this is a pic from earlier this week.

It comes in a sheet and has isn't own adhesive on the back, just peel and stick. I made up some templates out of very thin cardboard to work from.

Yep, it is on backwards. I used 3M 90 spray adhesive on mine.  Here is a picture of mine sourced from OPGI installed:
