He was not a Chapter Member and is no longer a member of the Chapter website. All non-members have been encouraged to join the CLC and Chapter; however, I cannot force anyone to join. I do hope more of our non-Chapter members will reconsider and join.

Thanks Jason , I understand; just seems like he would have joined seeing he's been on here since I have abt 2004. I will miss his knowledge and comments...

Tell me about it! That would be $25 a year well spent. The Self-Starter alone is worth admission! I will say this, while we lost some long time "regulars" that just like to show up and post, we have gained 16 new CLC and Chapter members in less than 2 months. Some people just like a free platform to come and go and post as they please. There are plenty of places like that on Facebook, etc. I like to think we have a bit more to offer than the regular 2 dimensional chat forums found everywhere these days.

And to be honest, I can use the fact we are now a "Public Restricted" site to solicit new Chapter Members. That is anyone can publicly view our website, but if they want to participate, they need to sign up and become a members.

Boggles my mind that a '63-'64 Cadillac enthusiast would balk at $25/year to get access to all the info on this site.

Yes, we miss Tony. His posts were informative and interesting. It's hard to find many original owners of our era of cars. Such perspective is very worthwhile to the club.

I JUST noticed they were gone and am sad to see he did not rejoin. Has anyone reached out directly to make sure they were well aware of the change? Some people can be a little…. Hard of hearing we’ll say, sometimes.

Above and beyond the pinned posts here on the website and several emails starting November 1, 2023, Tony was well aware of the transition. I had been in communication with him after Jan 1 and again made it clear he would need to join the Chapter in order to remain a member of the Chapter Website. On Jan 6, he sent me a message "Pls remove my info from the 63-64 site", and he was removed from the site.

I have kept all other "suspended" members data on the site, and ready to reinstate those that wanted to join us. We have had a good number that have signed up. On Jan. 15 all suspended member data will be  deleted.

After, that they are still welcome to join the CLC, and then our Free Chapter and our Website. They would just need to go back through the "Sign Up" steps. So the door will remain open, but if you are not a Chapter Member, on January 15, you will be completely removed from the site. I think 2 months notice, then an additional 2 week grace period is plenty of time to consider joining our Chapter.

Thanks, Jason, for the explanation.  Still surprised he didn't join the new site. He will be missed.

Wow, I am surprised and disheartened by his choice. $25/year is such a small amount of money…

I am still also saddened that the data will be deleted for non members. But I understand the choice  and accept it as I wish to maintain my membership and access to this treasure trove of knowledge.

I also noticed the help link about the free clock rejuvenation service-he is gone as well. I forget his name of the top of my head. Sad to see such long standing members go.

Guess I’ll have to step up to the plate! Ha!

Pat Westphal is still very much a part of the Chapter and his clock exchange offer was posted  in our March 2023 Newsletter. Check it out at March 2023 Newsletter.  This is of course something he is doing on his own time and a free service to fellow Chapter Members so I didn't want to overwhelm him by listing on our may Parts & Suppliers page. He is often on our  monthly Chapter Zoom Meet-Ups... which reminds me I need to set it up for our next one this Sunday and send out the invites!

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks

'63 Eldorado trumpet horn + 2 standard horns restoration

Posted by Les Eastling on November 15, 2023 at 10:34am 1 Comment

My son, unbeknownst to me, had all three of the horns on our 1963 Eldorado completely restored. We had recently added the Eldorado trumpet horn to the two standard horns and the sound was not very good... we had heard good ones so we knew something was not right... but there was not much we could do to get better sound from the 3 horns.

There is a restoration service called The Horn Works who my son…
