Really Cool Sunray DX Oil Company Ad with 1963 Cadillac from June 7, 1963 Life Magazine

Check out this really cool ad found in the June 7, 1963 Life Magazine sent to my be Dave Rubin.
Can you imagine winning a brand new Cadillac for 5 years starting with 1963 and continuing through 1964, 1965, 1966, and 1967! To top it off they threw in Gas & Oil for 5 years!  It would really be incredible to find out something about the winner! There was also an alternate payout of $600 a month ($7200 a year) which would have been more than the cost of the car, so that might have been taken, especially given the fact I believe the winner would have to pay tax on each car.  It is still a cool notion that someone could have one a brand new 1963/4/5/6/7 Cadillac!  If anyone has more information let us know.

So the sponsor was Sunray DX Oil Company and according to Google AI:
"Sunray DX Oil Company originated from mergers between Sunray Oil and Mid-Continent Oil in the 1950s, with the DX brand becoming prominent in the Midwest. The company eventually merged with the Sun Oil Company (Sunoco) in 1968, with Sunoco keeping the DX brand for some time before eventually phasing it out. Sunray DX was a significant player, becoming the world's sixth-largest oil company by 1965 before its final merger with Sunoco."

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
