My Eldorado has bucket seats.  The controls lack tilt.  Is this how they came?

ithe door mounted control knob has forward/back and up/down but, no tilt.
the up down isn’t working at the moment and forward/back is sluggish and pulls more from one side of the tracks.

They came with 4 way (up, down, forward, back) on the driver side, and 2 way (forward and back on the right side).  If you want them to tilt back you can always unbolt front and add some rubber blocks under the front.

- For non movement check the transmission on the left driver side for dried grease. Unbolt driver seat, flip back, and remove the transmission, open the case, and remove all dried grease especially on the slide rods that the electromagnetic actuators engage to pull the gears together to make the seat cables spin. The grease dries up and prevents movement of the actuators. Click on Seat Transmission - Cleaning the 6-Way and 4-Way Seat Transmissions to go to our Help Page for a visual and more details on cleaning.

- For slow movement, unbolt seat, flip back clean out the tracks with WD40, 0000 steel wool, compressed air and whatever you have to work with. Also check that the main ground wire is secured to the floor. It usually a thick blue wire with an round connector that goes under one of the seat rail to floor bolts. Give the bolt and extra snug and make sure it is tight.  Also makes sure seat left and right rails are in same relative position front to back. Simply measure from front or back for equal distance.  Motor could be tired and burning out but usually cleaning and greasing seat rails and checking that ground will do the trick. Also make sure the seat harness connectors at motor and transmission are making good contact. Pull apart and clean if unsure.

Thank you for answering the question.
I was just watching the online dealers information and trying to pause the slideshow on the Eldorado seat page.

‘’I’ll copy down the repair details for action when time permits.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

accumulator dryer

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
