The January 2015 Newsletter included a solution to replacing the Fender Skirt Seals often missing after 50+ years. I have attached as a separate PDF file which you can see by clicking on Fender Skirt Seal Replacement.
I will also copy this to our Help Topics page.

I used a rubber seal that went over the skirt lip, its tight but seals really nice, I got it from rubber the right way. I like the way you should with the gasket material, I did not know that was the way it came originally.
The rubber seals they seem to carry would be a good substitute. The original seal is usually long gone. The pictures at the start of the article that I included, were of the 41K mile Fleetwood that had been in a garage since the late 80's. Even it was coming off as you see.

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
