All,
after over 18 months of headaches I finally can share a happy update!
I have my 63 Eldorado back and it is actually driving!!!
There are a couple of things that I knew will have to get done before I can take it on longer trips but the engine is running smoothly again. I take every little win at this point.
Thank you to everyone for the help and advice you gave me - without you I would have given up a long time ago.
There is a quick question I have and I hope you can help again:
The mechanic changed the temperature gauge sensor on the engine and got one from NAPA that was supposed to work but he said it does not have the correct Ohm. The temp gauge now goes directly to hot when starting the engine - he said he manually checked the temp after driving and it is not overheating which is good.
Anyone ever replaced that and has a tip/ part number for me?
Thanks again
Daniela

Daniela, Congrats on getting the car back. I know it is a great feeling to be able to drive it again and I look forward to seeing you and the Caddy at one of our future meet-ups.
The temp sending units sold over the counter these days (and for the last few years) are crap and mis-calibrated sending the incorrect resistance (ohms) to the temp unit. Good used ones have been in super high demand the last few years and I usually stay out of them, but do have a known good one that I pulled from the last running car. I sell these for $20, which drops to $15 for you with 25% Chapter discount and can ship for $10 for a final total of $25. If interested in a good used one shoot me a PayPal to jasonedge@nc.rr.com and I will get this one on the way. Jason.
Daniela, The temp sending unit is packed and will ship out Priority today. thanks, Jason.
Thank you so much!
Yes, I got the first honks, waves and a gas station chat yesterday.
For me the most fun are the surprised faces when they realize it is a woman driving.
Daniela, so glad to hear that you've got your land yacht rollin again! Sometimes its a long road get these rigs roadworthy, but the enjoyment is so rewarding!

It is truly a yacht but it is back on the road. There still are a couple of little things to get done but at least I am done with this chapter.
Daniela,
Congratulations on getting your ride back on the road! Please post pics.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
