Put the distributor back in ,set timing. Still seems to be a valve train noise ,shut it down .oil is up to level.filter is full of oil . Should I pack the gears with petroleum jelly ?and fill the oil filter neck with oil . Prior to this I had the front cover off changed the water pump, timing chain & gears. Should I pull the oil pump assembly apart and check the valve etc.  Suggestions ?

If I remember correctly when I primed mine, I didn't see oil shooting out of the shaft gear but definitely felt resistance on the drill when the pump was primed and pumping oil. At 1st the drill will spin freely and when oil is pulled in you will feel resistance. Did that happen when you were priming the pump?

Not really Kurt.

Probably just need to perform the step below. After that, try priming with the drill again. If you feel resistance on the drill, you are good to go.

I’ll give it another shot

Thanks for everyone’s response, it seems like it’s solved ,took off the valve covers, and even pulled the oil pressure switch ran the drill for a good 10 minutes finally oil  shot out of the switch port and oil is bleeding out of the rocker arms . Just waiting on some Bill Hirsh paint to paint and put it all together, paint is on BACKORDER … they said 4-6 weeks! that’s ok, We are at the end of our cruise season up in this part of the states.

1963 RHS A/C kick panel - photos needed

Posted by SK on June 2, 2025 at 2:20pm 2 Comments

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?

My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.

Many thanks,

-Samu

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
