My power steering has been squeaking and leaking, so it is probably time for a new pump. I've noticed that there are many different distributors, but can anybody recommend a particular seller from experience? Thanks,
Chris

Try your local parts stores first. There is a new outer reservoir out there, and it is being put on the pumps and being sold as stock. I picked up one, and politely put it back on the pats counter and asked them to order another one and verify that it was indeed the correct type.
Thanks Russ. These are the kind of issues I don't want to run into.
Main issue I am aware of is trying to get an old pulley off and new one on without bending them. On most power steering pump pulleys you have a groove to evenly grip and pull the pulley off the shaft with a puller. No such groove on the 63/64 pulleys...either solid or vented pulleys... as they are smooth making the pullers useless. I think Russ punches them off with a impact hammer. I've relied on VG used ones and have a few on hand if anyone is in a pinch and needs a good used one.
I was looking through some previous posts and saw how mangled they can get. I don't particularly want to get stuck in a situation where the pulley gets bent and I can't drive the car back in the garage. Can you shoot me a price on a good used one, Jason?
The power steering pump needs to be refilled every drive, and I tried wiping the pump down to see where the leak was coming from, but it seems to be everywhere.
I've got the original cap, but was unaware that there was any dipstick. I saw the one you repainted. It turned out really nice. I would assume you degreased it, scuffed it up, taped off the top and hose ports and used a high temp spray paint. Any tips for painting this?
The dipsticks often break off and you can hear them rattling around in the pumps. It is a good idea to get them out of the pump, but not a big deal not having one as you can eyeball that you have fluid a couple inches from the top. I am sure on my pump I cleaned it, hit it with the impact brush, hand sanded what I couldn't get to, and repeat with some medium/fine sand paper, then once over it with 0000 steel wool dipped in Acetone, then a quick rinse with Acetone to clean any remaining film off. You just don't want to submerge it in a heavy solvent like gas or acetone since you have seals inside.
Thanks for the info. I'll be sending you an email soon about purchasing that.
I have good caps with the dip stick intact for 20.00

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,
-Samu

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
