Here was my response:

Simple for me. That dude with sideburns turned me on to Cadillacs long before I had a driver's license. E Liked Cadillacs = I Liked Cadillacs and my destiny was set. It took me 32 years to finally get into one back on Nov 13, 1996 when I picked up my 1964 Coupe de Ville, but I was destined for a Cadillac at some point! Thank you Elvis, Thank You Very Much!

Shortly after I started working for Cadillac Engineering on Clark Street in Detroit I got a chance to drive an 83 Eldorado back to my home town in Wisconsin.  After that trip I was hooked.

For me it was growing up in Albuquerque and everyone I knew had Oldsmobile's, Cutlass, Mercury's, LTD's, etc... so 70's & 80's land yachts were really all I knew.

In Highschool (1995) my girlfriends mom had a 77 Fleetwood that she inherited and was selling for $500.  Once I sat in those big cushy Power seats, and saw that it had Climate control, power everything and even flip down footrests in the back?!!? Not only was that the most luxury I'd ever seen in a car...... it was nicer than the HOUSE I lived in!!

Being able to seat 5 or 6 of my friends wasn't a bad thing thing either...

28 years and 5 Cadillacs later.... the feelings the same;

I guess the only things that's different now is there sure aren't anymore $500 Cadillacs out there =)

Growing up in my hometown of McLean, IL, we had a neighbor lady. Her name was Barb. For years, Barb always had a new Cadillac. This was when they still gave away the Heritage of Ownership medallions. Over the course of her life, she was able to purchase 6 brand new Cadillacs. I would always see her Cadillacs just a few doors down.

Going on 20 years now, her husband Bill passed away. She was all alone and didn't have any family in the area. At this time, I was in middle school. Barb and I got very close. I would take out her garbage and get her mail, go to the doctor with her. All of the things a grandson should do even though I wasn't her grandson. Over the next 10 or so years, Barb became like a grandma to me. If she needed anything, I was her first call. As she got older, we spent more time together and I got very acquainted with her 2008 Cadillac CTS. This was her car and we would take it all over. Dinner, Doctor, to see friends. Anywhere she needed a "chauffeur", I was there. I loved that car, and I loved Barb like a grandma. When she passed in 2018, she had left me her 2008 Cadillac CTS with only 22,000 miles! While I was devasted, I was honored to be the next caretaker of the car that gave me so many fond memories. I still have this car and it is my daily driver. It only just rolled over 80,000 miles. So I've used it a bit more than she did! But I have made so many more memories with this car since I took ownership.

As I got older and into a steadier job, I began looking for my own 64 Cadillac. Since I was a kid, I had always loved the styling of the 64's even though Barb never had one. I spent about 4 years in the Facebook groups drooling over the other cars. Finally, I was able to purchase my 64 Fleetwood in August of 2022. We've already made so many memories in the 64 on top of the 2008.

I think it's safe to say that Barb not only had a huge effect on who I am as a person today, but also for my love of Cadillacs!

Edelbrock Carb Block off Plates

Posted by Chase on March 12, 2025 at 2:05pm 14 Comments

Hey guys,

I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

Posted by Dave Fehrle on March 23, 2024 at 3:23pm 8 Comments

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?
