Driving my Caddy much more now that I've sold my two Imperials. I am considering a disc brake conversion, but don't know which to buy. For the Imperial it was an AAJ kit, what do most of you like for the Caddy?

Thanks

Norm

I think some of our monthly Zoom meet-up regulars have done the disc conversion. Our next meeting is 8:00 pm Eastern, July 21. You can bring that up in the meeting or we can have as a featured tech item. Since I have never done the conversion, I know zero about them. Maybe others here can also chime in.  This would also be an excellent tech article for our newsletter ... HINT, HINT for anyone that has done the conversion.

Hi Norman...off topic sorry...but where did you sell your Imperials?  (And what year & condition were they?)

I have a gorgeous '71 LeBaron survivor with only 26,000 careful miles, and I don't think BaT or Hemmings will pull a price close to parity for the rarity and condition of my car.

If you would please PM me, when you get a chance, I would greatly appreciate it.

Apologies to the rest of the forum for this off-topic digression.

I just had a front disc conversion from Truespoke wire wheels installed on my 1964 Deville and am very happy the purchase from start to finish.  Every time that I called, they were very informative and knowledgeable about the wheel fitment questions that I had and were very confident that my 15x7 Supreme wheels would fit.  When I got the car back from the shop, I was impressed by excellent pedal feel and the straight line panic stops.  No longer sis the car pull to one side or the other.  I would easily recommend their kit to anyone as this was a very satisfying purchase.  Easy and quick shipping with no surprises.  I wish my Cadillac King purchase was this was this easy, but it was about the exact opposite.  Now off to update that thread.

Loud air moving sound within carb with cleaner removed

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

accumulator dryer

Who rebuilds original AC  accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year ,  There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A    What  is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
