My '64 CDV is starting to have torque converter issues. I'm going to pull the trans and send it to a shop I trust. Even thought I don't have any trans issues (except for a leak at the modulator) I'm going to ask them to give the trans a freshening up.
Any tips or upgrades you can suggest while they've got it? I'm going to have them keep it stock, no shift kits, etc. While it's out I'll be changing the rear main and oil pan gasket so tips on that are appreciated to!

I have a previously rebuilt 1964 429 Torque Converter for $100 + s/h. It was installed but saw limited miles then removed and I now have both up for sale. I have inserted a picture below but can see more of the torque converter and transmission by Clicking Here. If interested email me at jasonedge@nc.rr.com and include shipping address.
Yes I saw his post. Pretty sure shipping of a trans would be a deal breaker and as I stated in my post I already have a trusted rebuilder. It's a turbo 400 so shouldn't be too complex lol.
If not in a super hurry I can ship the torque converter from NC to OR via UPS Ground for $70 for a total of $170. That's not too bad for a super nice piece. I'm guessing about $350 to ship the transmission but you would need to confirm with engineshipping.com. Still a $1000 or more less than a rebuild even with shipping.

Many owners have reported oil leaks at the rear main seal even after replacing the seal, myself included. Recently Tony Lentini found a Serviceman bulletin published in February 1965 which details a…Continue

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Who rebuilds original AC accumulator dryers for 1964 Cadillac? I have been on Classic auto air in Tampa FL wait list for over a year , There is one on Old air products web site that looks very similar to the original # 21-4214A but states it fits 1962 Gm cars, The one recommended for a 1964 Cadillac is half the length 21-4215A What is everyone using ? I would prefer to be as original as possible. Thanks
