My blower motor has bitten the dust. It works but makes a horrible squealing noise. I like having AC, but its deafening and probably not worth tearing something else up to have it.
A previous owner cut an access port in the top of the blower housing and I tried soaking the motor first with brake clean to clear any debris and then shot some WD in there hoping it would make its way to the bearings. I don't think that worked, after about 20 min, it was still squealing.
So I then proceeded to attempt to take the blower motor out after referencing the page and found it could be done without hood removal and just dropping the motor and nothing else. WELL, let me tell you, if you are able to get the blower motor out from the top you are a master mechanic. There is not a shot in hell that blower motor is coming out from the top. MAYBE from the bottom, but I'd imagine that I'd have better luck removing the access panel in the wheel well.
So, a few questions-Is the motor greaseable in any way INSIDE the car w/o removal? Second, how big of a job all together is it to replace the blower motor. I see some online for like $100 and think that may be my best bet to get a reliable fan.
The weather here in C Illinois is still decent with no air, but come late June, I'm going to be BEGGING for air.
Any tips and tricks are certainly appreciated!

Take the inner fender access panel off. The blower motor is not serviceable, just swap out the blower case and scrap it.
I am seeing all kinds of results online for the blower motor-any suggestions on a replacement? Looks like this motor may have been used frequently across the GM line...

If you have a problem getting a correct new motor, I have a bin full of used, tested, originals that blow hard and quiet and includes the fan cage for $40 ($30 after Chapter discount).
I should have checked with you first, I don’t know why I didn’t even think of that!
I have one ordered that I put in with my most recent RockAuto order-so we shall see if this is the correct one
It i a typical GM blower motor. You will find that the vent hole for the rubber tube is in the wrong area, or not there at all.

Could someone post front and back photos of the 1963 right-hand kick panel with A/C?
My car didn’t come with the original kick panels, so it's a bit of a mystery to me how I should cut the backing board and carpet to fit around the A/C.
Many thanks,

Hey guys,
I have installed the same Edelbrock carb and have done everything the same as Jason’s carb and intake project. In the spring and summer months the car starts, runs and idles great! In the fall and winter months on a cold start, the car starts awful and wants to die until it warms up. I have to keep my foot on the throttle until it warms up or it will idle just terrible and try to die. Once it’s warm, it runs fantastic! Whats going on here? I was thinking of removing the…
