Gentlemen,
As my paint job restoration continues, I am going to replace the carpet and carpet padding. Does a precut carpet for a Coupe De Ville fit a Convertible? Any recommendations for a vendor of precut interior loop carpet and carpet pad? Thanks. Mike

It has been 20 years since I replaced my carpet and when I did I took a small sample from under rear seat and took to my interior shop and they ordered from their sources. It was not perfect but has served me well.
I believe the coupe and convertible would be the same. The floor layout is basically the same although the rear seat is more narrow in the convertible due to the upper qtrs where the top folds down, but other than a slight difference at front edge of rear seat bottom there should be no difference in floor pan. Others with more current experience can confirm.
I will add that if you want to stay original the 1964 deVille came with cut pile. You can see the spec transcribed from the Spec Manuals to this Help Page --> Carpets Used in 1963 & 1964 Cadillacs
My '64 convertible got flooded the other week so I just ordered a new carpet. I ordered from OC Auto Carpets because they were on sale. They did say there might be a slight difference with the convertible carpet. I went and ordered an Eldorado carpet since they didn't have the deVille convertible option. Cut pile is on sale for $179.28 right now so if you're using that instead of loop pile, I'd say go order it soon. It comes with the padding. They will send you samples to check out. Very happy with their service.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
