Cadillac Fall Festival – The annual celebration of all things Cadillac and La Salle

The incredible 90-acre campus of the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan, will be the site for the Cadillac Fall Festival. 2018 show photographs courtesy of the Cadillac La Salle Club.

With Cadillac being America’s preeminent luxury car brand, “The Standard of the World” is now being celebrated in extraordinary fashion with the founding of the Cadillac Fall Festival. Only two years old, this special show has all the right ingredients that will soon render it as the must-attend event for Cadillac owners and enthusiasts throughout the world. Here are a few photos from last year’s show and some details on what it makes it so special.

The Cadillac Allante was the featured model in 2018, while the 1971-’78 Fleetwood Eldorado will be 2019’s honored model.

The 2011 Cadillac Ciel hybrid electric concept car was a treat to view up close.

Called “A Celebration of Excellence,” The Cadillac Fall Festival honors all Cadillac models from 1903 to 2009. From pre-war V-12 and V-16 Classics to the finned beauties of the 1950s and ‘60s, as well as all the models of the ‘70s, ’80s and ‘90s, all generations of the marque are recognized. And Cadillac’s companion car line, La Salle, is equally celebrated, too, along with customized Cadillacs displayed alongside unique Cadillac-built concept cars. For lovers of the famed Cadillac marque, it’s sensory overload that must be experienced firsthand.

One of the earliest GM Dream Cars displayed on the lawn last year was the 1953 Le Mans, which sat alongside a 2007 CTS-V coupe.

Many Professional cars were built using Cadillac bodies, such as this Hess & Eisenhardt-built 1959 Cadillac Broadmoor Skyview limousine.

The venue for this special event is none other than the spectacular Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan. Several individual museums reside on its 90-acre campus, with the Cadillac-La Salle Club Museum & Research Center being the center of activities. While there you will also be able visit all the other adjoining buildings and exhibits including the Classic Car Club of America Museum, Pierce-Arrow Museum, H.H. Franklin Collection, Model A Ford Museum, and the Lincoln Motor Car Heritage Museum.

This gorgeous Peacock Green 1958 Fleetwood Sedan 60 Special was shown in 2018 by owner Donald Ghareeb who came up from Alabama.

Original and restored Cadillacs from the ‘70s and ‘80s make up a big part of the Fall Festival with dozens on display.

This year’s Cadillac Fall Festival will take place September 26-29 and will include a bus tour to the GM Heritage Center on Friday, seminars presented by the GM Design staff, rides in vintage Cadillacs, a gala reception in the evening and, of course, Saturday’s concours. This year’s featured model will be the 1971-’78 Fleetwood Eldorado, plus there will also be two very special vehicles on display: the 1949 Cadillac Coupe de Ville prototype that was first shown at the Waldorf Astoria in 1949, and a 1940 GM “Parade of Progress” Futurliner.

While checking my Carter carb with engine running, I took the air cleaner off and there was a very loud hissing sound of air. I placed a piece of paper over the carb and it didn’t move up or down, is this normal?

Vintage Air AC

Posted by Chase on March 21, 2024 at 5:55am 0 Comments

Hey everyone, has anybody done a Vintage Air AC/Heat setup in their car? I want to bypass the old vacuum setup and go with a Vintage Air Gen 2 model. Before I get started, does anyone have any experience with this? (Which model to go with, do’s and dont’s, etc.) It looks pretty involved. Any and all info/pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
